View Full Version : Former WCW Star Evan Karagias Arrested On 11/1, Charges Include Assault

Former WCW wrestler Evan Karagias found himself on the wrong side of the law earlier this week. The 49-year-old once known for his high-flying moves, was arrested and charged with assault and injury to personal property on November 1.

According to the Gaston County Sheriff's Office, as reported by Fox 8, Karagias was taken into custody by the Belmont Police Department. The charges include simple assault and injury to personal property. He was processed at approximately 1:36 a.m. and was released after posting a $25,000 bond.

Karagias competed for WCW from 1997 to 2001. During his tenure, he held the Cruiserweight and Hardcore Championships.

He's perhaps best remembered as a prominent member of 3 Count, the 'boy band' faction that included fellow high-flyers Shane Helms and Shannon Moore. The trio entertained Nitro crowd across the United States with their unique blend of athleticism and showmanship.

Karagias had a brief stint with WWE after the promotion acquired WCW in 2001. He was part of the Invasion storyline, but sustained a bad concussion and was let go by the end of the yaer.

After his time in wrestling, he eventually shifted his focus to acting. He appeared in soap operas like 'Passions' and 'All My Children,' along with a few other TV appearances and roles in smaller independent films.
