New Japan Pro Wrestling's Will Ospreay could be a WWE Superstar soon enough if the Stamford-based promotion has its way.

Ospreay currently competes for New Japan Pro Wrestling, where he is the reigning IWGP United Kingdom/States Heavyweight Champion. The Brit's contract with the promotion will expire in February of next year. Ospreay has hired Barry Bloom to oversee negotiations for his next wrestling contract. Bloom helped negotiate the AEW deals for The Elite that were signed earlier this year.

With Ospreay's semi-regular appearances for AEW, many believe it is just a matter of time before the British wrestler becomes an official 'All-Elite' talent. During Wrestling Observer Radio, however, Dave Meltzer made it clear that WWE remains 'in the picture.'

“I would not say anything is definite with Ospreay, but people who think that it’s a guarantee it’s AEW, just put it this way, WWE is absolutely in the picture. I’ve said this before, but WWE is in the picture, AEW is in the picture, it’s whoever’s going to give him the best offer, and he’s going to go for both sides.”

If Ospreay signs with WWE, then Seth Rollins would love to face him. After retaining the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Crown Jewel, Rollins told Ospreay that "the water is warm" in WWE.

AEW & WWE will no doubt make big offers to sign Ospreay to a contract, but Ospreay has been working closely with IMPACT Wrestling as of late. Ospreay was victorious at both Bound for Glory & Turning Point, where he defeated Mike Bailey and Eddie Edwards respectively. Ospreay has said that his recent run in IMPACT has been "the best time" from fan experience to quality of wrestling.
