Fans who attended DDT Pro-Wrestling’s Ultimate Party event were surprised by the appearance of WWE's Shinsuke Nakamura during the show.
The show saw the final match of Saki Akai, who had been on a retirement tour since May of this year. During the Ultimate Party, Akai was honored with a video package that included several names in wrestling, including Shinsuke Nakamura. The current WWE Raw Superstar wished Akai a happy retirement and had other kind words for her.

Nakamura has been a regular on WWE Raw in recent months and turned heel in August by attacking Seth Rollins. The pair would face off at WWE Payback in a match Rollins would win. The pair met a second time for the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Fastlane in a Last Man Standing match. Again, Rollins left with the gold.
This is the second time in less than a year that Nakamura has made an appearance for a promotion other than WWE. On January 1, Nakamura defeated the Great Muta as part of Muta's retirement tour. Nakamura used his WWE theme music for the match and both he and Muta used the dreaded poison mist. After the match, Nakamura thanked Muta, calling him his idol and the two helped each other walk up the stage.
