Rob Van Dam has always been a big fan of the Ultimate Warrior, but the WWE Hall of Famer revealed that his fandom came full circle after Warrior passed away.

On the newest episode of “1 Of A Kind With RVD” Rob Van Dam covers November 1998, including the notorious Halloween Havoc PPV that featured the forgettable rematch between Ultimate Warrior and Hulk Hogan. RVD mentioned that while he remembers the rematch, he very much recalls the initial match with Hogan and Warrior at WrestleMania VI.

“It was really important to me because I thought Warrior was awesome and I thought he was really getting his roses, his flowers, his just due if he was going up against ‘The Immortal’ Hulk Hogan and going head to head, like, holy crap, and having the muscle intensity to back up.”

Van Dam later goes on to mention how he actually worked on the same card as Warrior back in 1995 at The Aladdin in Las Vegas. That really stood out to a young RVD, but he later got a big payoff when per request from the Warrior, he helped train him in the ring for a 2011 match against Orlando Jordan.

Then, Warrior tragically passed away in 2014 just days after being inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame. Rob remembers Warrior’s wife, Dana, revealing something to RVD that he was not aware of.

“His wife said to me that Warrior was always a big fan of mine. “And I was like, ‘What? ' She said, ‘I don't know if you remember this or not,’ she said, ‘but one time you guys were on a show together in Las Vegas a long time ago.’ I was like, 'Yeah! At The Aladdin. Of course I remember. I wouldn't expect him to remember.’

“She said, ‘No, you stuck out to him and he noticed you right away and pointed you out. And she said over the years that he always would point you out to me on TV and say, ‘Watch this guy, he knows what he's doing.’ And she said that he always followed my career and stuff. And I was just blown away.”
