With Survivor Series now in the rearview mirror, WWE has begun laying out the path for the Road to WrestleMania, which officially kicks off at the 2024 Royal Rumble event.

Though the Royal Rumble is nearly eight weeks away, a new report has indicated some of WWE's early plans for the upcoming WrestleMania season -- plans that specifically revolve around the recently-minted dup of Grayson Waller and Austin Theory.

Waller and Theory were initially slated to be teaming for a a short period of time. However, those plans have since changed, and their pairing has now reportedly been extended, with Waller and Theory expected to "play a strong role" in the WWE programming leading up to WrestleMania 40, according to WrestleVotes.

The reasoning behind this change stems from the internal belief that the "brash, young team may benefit from the mutual partnership" in the long term.

Since being paired together over the summer, Waller and Theory have found themselves in a respectable position on the WWE SmackDown product. After defeating the likes of the LWO and the Brawling Brutes, the duo received the opportunity to challenge for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships. Despite their loss, Waller and Theory later transitioned to a feud with LA Knight, who has been considered one of the top stars of the blue brand.

Currently, Waller and Theory find themselves immersed in a program with former WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens, with their most recent interaction occurring on the December 1 episode of SmackDown. There, Waller faced Owens in singles competition, which resulted in Owens sustaining an injury to his hand.
