At 8:54, Lillian came on and sang the National Anthem, during which the camera zoomed in on her on the television screens in the corners of the Continental Airlines Arena. Afterwards, the announce team was introduced, starting with the King and followed by Joey Styles and the Coach. As reported earlier on PWInsider, the announce table was at ringside and King and Styles slapped hands with the fans while making their way to it. Styles jogged down the ramp as well.
*The match continues as Michaels is on the outside in the opposite corner. A replay shows Kane dropping HBK on the guard rail as Kane tosses him back in the ring. Kane gives him a hard kick to the gut and is reversed as he tries to whip him into the corner. Michaels starts the 10 punches and gets to 8 before Kane slams him and starts a choke. HBK reverses into a choke of his own and McMahon gets up for a moment. The choke continues as we fade to black.
*HBK is going up the ramp and Todd Grisham says that McMahon told him to tell Shawn that he is now the number one entrant in the Elimination Chamber. Michaels looks discouraged and continues to walk up the ramp holding his head. Todd tells him that the number one entrant has never won an Elimination Chamber match.
*Todd Grisham catches up with Gregory Helms and asks his response to the King's challenge. Helms said he went out there to talk to him man to man and King sucker-punched him. He says that's the kind of person that King is and that at New Year's Revolution, he'll shut him up and knock the crown off his head.
*Maria heads out to the ring and says that last week on Unlimited, she debuted the Kiss Cam and will debut it again this week. About four couples are shown on the Kiss Cam, including one that really got into it with tongue, before the feed goes out. The segment continued, as seen on TV, and the live feed was actually shown in the Unlimited player a few seconds slow of the TV feed. The feed cut out again when Victoria and her posse got halfway down the ramp.
*Mr. McMahon comes out as Ashley and Maria are being helped up the ramp. He asked what happened and goes on to talk in a condescending way to the girls (almost like a parent to a child.) He says that he'd like to see the first ever Bra and Panties Gauntlet match, where every girl that was just in the ring competes until one is left and the others are stripped down. He says that 'we'll try that' and finishes by telling the crowd, "That's not for your enjoyment, it's for my enjoyment only."
*Segment on Ashley's Maxim photo shoot airs. Same one as last week.
*Todd Grisham is with Carlito who says that Chris Masters has a great body but just like all his opponents, he's not cool. He says that it's a disgrace that he has to be locked in that chamber with the five of them and says that he looks to the future. He looks forward to walking down that ramp with a shiny apple in one hand and a shiny championship in the other. By winning the WWE Championship, he'll be able to spit in the face of every other superstar, and that's cool.
*Todd came out and asked New Jersey to flash their signs. They included: First blood of the new year, Induct Eddie (on a Texas Flag background,) CENA: Champion Excellent Number 1 Awesome, Bleed Angle Bleed, A Carlito sign with lots of construction paper (as Todd put it,) and Striker gave me an 'F'.
*Trevor Murdoch says rumors have been flying all over WWE.com about his 'sexuality.' He says that for our information, his first encounter was with a woman. He learned a lot about love that night and to this day, nothing gets him in the mood more than the smell of Ben Gay. He asks us what we would do with a fine looking woman who popped her teeth out. He spits tobacco into a cup and tells us to think about that.
*Angle's music ends and the bell rings. They lock up and Angle is pushed to the corner. Cena goes for a hard punch but Angle avoids it. They stare each other down and Angle gets Cena locked from behind. Cena separates them and gets brought to the mat as Angle attacks with hard headshots and kicks. The crowd continues a 'Let's go Angle' and 'Let's go Cena' chant battle. Cena whips and splashes Angle in both corners and follows up with a hard slam. Angle goes to the outside and the crowd loudly boos for Cena's offense. Angle converses with Daivari as we go back live.
That was it for Unlimited. I don't think I've ever seen so much promotion for Unlimited on the actual show before. Granted the segments were tied in with those on the show, but I don't think the sponsors will be too happy about it. . Happy New Year everyone.
