Tom Cruise married Katie Holmes in Italy yesterday in a star-studded ceremony.
Brooke Shields, Richard Gere, Jennifer Lopez, Jim Carrey, Will Smith and Victoria Beckham saw Holmes, 27, wed Cruise in a off-the-shoulder Armani dress with a train in ivory silk cadis, Valenciennes lace and Swarovski beaded crystal embroidery.
However, the Scientology ceremony - at a 15th Century Castle in Bracciano, near Rome was kept entirely secret from the throng of public and media waiting outside – fitted in with 44-year-old Cruise’s spiritual beliefs but is not, apparently, recognised by law.
The Hollywood couple had their first baby together, daughter Suri, in April.
