TNA exploring PPV outside of Orlando in 2007, BFG buyrate, and Genesis

According to new reports, TNA is looking at running several of its monthly PPV events outside of Universal Studios in Orlando, FL. The goal is to create more importance for their PPV events, as probably one of the biggest complaints is that you can't tell the difference in a TNA TV event and PPV event given the location. TNA is currently looking at cities in the Midwest (Chicago looks like a top candidate), the Canada/U.S. border, cities in the Southeast and Texas as possible PPV sites in 2007.

While any numbers are early at this point, the Bound For Glory PPV last month is estimated as doing around 50,000 buys and could go on to becoming TNA's most purchased monthly PPV event to date. Final Resolution back in January of this year (featuring Sting's return to TNA) drew around 55,000 buys and has been the highest ever since.

With TNA's Genesis PPV not airing on Dish Network this past Sunday, the company is stating that viewers who order the replay on Dish will receive a free copy of the Bound For Glory 2005 DVD.

TNA will have to leave Orlando if they want to succeed, but I'm not really sure if they have a large enough audience base to do PPV's in other cities. The show in Plymouth a few months ago only drew 3600 people and it looked like an indy event to me.
