Huge OVW news from tonight's tapings. Seth Skyfire pinned Aaron "The Idol" Stevens for the OVW TV Title when Idol did a promo claiming Paul Birchall will never get a title match. When the referee was bumped out of the ring, Beth Phoenix interfered in the match, but then Paul Birchall came into the ring. Beth started viciously slapping Paul with rights and lefts, but then Shelly, who has been obsessed with Birchall, attacked Beth, and they were fighting with realistic punches and it was a brawl. Birchall hit Idol with a DDT, Skyfire hit the B'Ham Bomb (Alabama Jam) and Birchall threw the referee into the ring to make the 3 count. Huge explosion on the finish. The split up of Beth and Shelly was fantastic.

In other big news, the entire show was based on Brent Albright demanding CM Punk shake his hand. Osama Rodriguez Alejandro was hosting the party in Albright's locker room, where Albright said there was no rematch in the contract, but ! he'd give Punk the rematch only if Punk came to the ring and shook his hand. Well, Shelly (before splitting with Beth) started to climb on Albright, and wanted to be with him, if she could just call him "Birchall." Albright said that's ok, and Shelly said she liked a man with an open mind, so she slapped some handcuffs on him. Albright freaked out, and threw Shelly off to the ground. The entire show, Albright was talking about Punk having to shake his hand.Punk did an interview hosted by Maria Kannalis, and in a very somber tone, when Maria asked Punk if he would shake Albright's hand, Punk said "I don't have a choice, do I?"

So the show keeps going, with KC James trying to sell Albright a Rolex watch, but Albright notices it's spelled R-O-L-E-C-K-S. KC ends up in a fight with The Spirit Squad.

Well, the Spirit Squad had two members of their crew, Nicky (Nemeth) and Mikey (Mondo) with the other members ringside against Eli! jah Burke and Roadkill, who was over huge at the Davis Arena. Roadkill pinned Mondo, but the Spirit Squad went to town on Roadkill and Elijjah until KC James turned babyface and tried to make the save, only to get beat up. But KC gave the Spirit Squad a hell of a fight.

So now Brent Albright comes out and this got huge heat. He claimed he was "the first OVW Champion people can respect, people can say is a man of courage, a man of honor, a man of dignity, a man everyone can admire." People were chanting "Cappotelli." Albright demanded Punk shake his hand. Punk came out. The Spirit Squad was in the ring with Albright. Punk was limping from last week. Elijah, Roadkill, and KC James came out and brawled with the Spirit Squad. Punk extended his hand, but when Albright went for the handshake, Punk locked the handcuff to the top rope and destroyed Albright with the heavy leather strap. Very Austin vs McMahon, but not a ripoff, and the angle fit the characters perfectly. This got enormous heat with everyone in the crowd.

In even more news, Chris Cage and The Miz kept the OVW Tag Team Titles against Tank and Chad Toland aka The Dicks. Here's the first twist. If the Tolands lost, they had to split up. They lost. They got a standing ovation. They took a final bow. And then Chad creamed Tank with a short arm clothesline, which shocked everyone in the Davis Arena.

A simply great tv taping. TNA needs to see how Paul Heyman can pack one hour with so many angles and action and yet everyone is presented as a big time star and you get to know their characters

I wish CM Punk would of won.. But as long as he is feuding for the Main Title.. I have no complaints. Should be awsome.. and we will see the belt around his waist.. one of these days.
