LOTS OF TNA NEWS: SAMOA JOE, LOCKDOWN, MLB PROMOTION, PORTUGAL EVENTS, BROTHER RUNT & TONS MORE

Word making the rounds is that Lockdown 2007 will be the next TNA PPV on the road, with Chicago and St. Louis being the most likely cities to host the show, although those plans aren't set in concrete yet. After the success of Bound for Glory in Detroit, TNA is actively seeking to take several PPVs on the road in 2007. That's a move that needs to happen in my opinion, in order for the company to continue to grow and get some more revenue streams coming in regularly.

As seen on last night's episode of Impact, Samoa Joe suffered a severe sprain of the MCL ligament in his knee. He'll be out of action until 1/14/7 at Final Resolution but will be appearing at the ROH events this weekend. He appeared at the TNA tapings earlier this week but not in a wrestling role. Joe is scheduled to begin physical therapy on the knee shortly.

TNA is claiming that they legitimately have one million dollars set aside for VKM's challenge. Thecompany might donate it to charity once this storyline has run it's course.

Major League Baseball stars David Eckstein and AJ Pierzynski appeared on ESPN2's Cold Pizza yesterday playing up their TNA brawl. Pierzynski is playing the heel in the storyline. The plan, as we've noted is to build to Pierzynski and Dale Torborg vs. Lance Hoyt and Eckstein at a St. Louis event next year. It would really be something if they could get the match to take place at an actual Cardinals game, but that's just a fantasy scenario I'm tossing out.

The Republican in Massachusetts ran an article on TNA star Matt "Brother Runt" Hyson as he made a speaking appearance at Samuel Bowles Elementary School in Springfield, MA. You can check it out at this link. (http://www.masslive.com/springfield/republican/index.ssf?/base/news-7/1166779481267300.xml&coll=1)

For those of you who speak Spanish and are looking for a little extra work, TNA posted the following on their website: "TNA Wrestling is seeking a candidate to provide English-To-Spanish translation of various marketing materials and news items for our website on a regular basis. The job is part-time and can be done from home. Candidates should provide any past translation experience and references as well. You must be 21 or older. Please send your resume information to info@tnawrestling.com."

Tickets for TNA's 1/20/07 debut in Birmingham, Alabama are already on sale.

The lineups for the "Impacto Total" events featuring TNA stars that are being promoted by APW in Portugal feature the following scheduled matches:

*Rhino vs. 2nd Place winner
*Third Place vs. Fourth Place
*NWA champion Abyss vs. Christian Cage
*Jerry Lynn vs. Brother Runt
*10 Man Gauntlet to determine APW Portugese championship *Team 3D vs. Voodoo Kin Mafia
*Four Way: Pac vs. Jodie Fleisch vs. Spud vs. Jonny Storm

1/6/07 Oporto, Portugal:

The Portugal events have been heavily promoted with TNA stars appearing in magazine and newspaper articles to push the event. Kurt Angle was featured in Portugal's version of TV Guide and there will be a lot of TV advertising airing in the next week. Local celebrity Axel (who does commentary for TNA's Portugese language version of Impact on Eurosport) has been doing a lot of hard selling and promoting for the events. I'd like to thank José Antonio for all his help from Portugal.

If VKM donate the money to charity, it could be some great publicity for TNA as well as a really classy move.
