NECW TV Episode #50

The episode starts off with footage from last week where Doug Williams challenges Maverick Wild to a rematch after they fight to a Time Limit Draw. Wild accepts.

NECW President Sheldon Goldberg talks about the premier of World Women's Wrestling. He also runs down the card for this episode.

Match 1: "The Anarchist" Doug Williams vs Maverick Wild

This match took place on August 10, 2001. Maverick Wild is a former NECW Heavyweight Champion and he holds the record for the longest-running NECW title reign. Doug Williams is from England and he is a former ROH Pure Champion, as well as a former FWA Champion and a former Pro Wrestling NOAH GHC Tag Team Champion.

Wild tries to float over Williams, but gets a kick in his back for his troubles. Wild executes a Russian leg sweep and follows with a cover, but Douglas kicks out before the three count. Douglas rolls Maverick over and gets a one count. Wild knocks down the Brit with a dropkick and goes for a nonchalant cover and it predictably gets a count of two. MW nails The Anarchist with a running lariat, flying over the top rope and quickly getting back in the ring for a pin and a two count. What agility. Mav bodyslams Doug E Doug and attempts a springboard somersault senton (say that five times fast) but there's no water in the pool. Oddly, Wild recovers
first, kind of no-selling the crash to the mat, and he goes for a pin attempt, getting two. Maverick tries for a splash in the corner, but DW dodges, and Wild bounces to the canvas. Wild still has enough in him to trip Williams with a drop toe hold; Doug gets mad and dropkicks his opponent, planting Wild down to the mat, and going for a pin - two count! M-Wild rushes Williams and eats boot as a result. After a couple of rolling leglocks, Williams crushes the Wild One with a sit out powerbomb for two.

D-Will hits Wild in the nose with a back elbow, then he goes to the middle rope and attempts a Revolution DDT, but Wild reverses it with an UNCLE SLAM~! Maverick tries to win the match and Williams kicks out at two. Wild tries to go up top, but Williams catches him with a back drop driver down to the canvas. Williams with the cover and the Mavster gets the shoulders up
at the two. Maverick rallies with a drop toe hold and a senton - he lays on top of the anarchic Williams and gets a two count for a nearfall. The guy from the UK sets Wild on the middle rope and hits a double underhook overhead slam. Williams with the cover and a two count. Williams goes up top and comes off with a knee drop; he tries for another pin and Wild still kicks out before three. Doug has had enough and he hits the CHAOS THEORY~! and Wild STILL kicks out at two. That's the second time in a row that
Maverick escapes Williams' finisher, as he did it on last week's episode as well. As I enjoy the Chaos Theory, I find it frustrating. Williams takes Wild and then nails ANOTHER CHAOS THEORY~! and the American wrestler kicks out again! Come on now, is he a robot or something? Williams goes for a third one as it might be the charm, but Wild bridges out at the end of it while Doug's shoulders are down and Referee Craig Callyer counts to three.

Winner: Maverick Wild (pinfall at 10:05)

Match 2: Triple Threat Match - Mercedes Martinez & El Boricua vs Sumie Sakai & Kid Mikaze vs Nikki Roxx & DC Dillinger

This match took place on August 10, 2003. Mercedes Martinez is a former NECW Women's Champion. Sumie Sakai is from Japan and she is a former WORLD-1 North American Champion. DC Dillinger is a member of Sabotage.

Everybody starts brawling in the ring and confusion abounds. Sakai knocks down Roxx with a clothesline. Martinez and Sakai fell each other with a double clothesline. Mikaze gives Boricua and Dillinger a superkick each. Mikaze runs up DC and does a flip to land on his feet. Kid sends both men to the mat with a double dropkick and when he tries to cover Dillinger, he gets a one count. Dillinger executes a powerslam and earns a count of two. The Sabotage member bodyslams Mikaze and then drops an elbow. He goes for a cover and gets a two. DCD rushes KM and gets a boot in the face for his efforts. He recovers and turns Mikaze inside out with a clothesline. The ensuing pin gets a one count. K-Mik delivers a cross body block onto Dillinger for a one count. Dillinger answers with a Mafia Kick and tries for a pin attempt, but he gets a near fall. Mikaze with a backslide gets a two count of his own. Mikaze rolls up Dillinger for two more counts and Dillinger responds by planting Mikaze face first. A tag is made and the
ladies come in. Martinez gives Roxx a spinebuster and Sakai executes a head scissors onto Mercedes.

Sumie takes down Nikki with a head scissors and rushes Double M, but eats turnbuckle when she is tripped with a drop toe hold. Martinez nails the Japanese woman with a powerbomb and Nichole breaks up the count at two. Roxx fells MM with a head scissors and she suplexes Sakai with a bridge - Martinez breaks it up before three. Mercedes tosses Roxx to the outside and
Sakai connects with a head scissors to Martinez. Roxx goes to the middle rope and attempts a legdrop, but hits nothing but air. Sakai connects with a slam, then tries for a moonsault from the top rope, and there's no water in the pool. Dillinger tries to legdrop Sakai, but she dodges out of the way. Mikaze attempts a moonsault from the top turnbuckle and he crashes and burns. Boricua hits Mikaze with an inverted DDT and Referee Craig Callyer counts the finish.

Winner: Mercedes Martinez & El Boricua (pinfall at 5:30)
