26 Dec Smackdown House Show Results - Hershey, PA

The show started with the normal national anthem followed by Teddy Long, who announced three title matches for the night. The first one being the opener for the US Championship between Chris Benoit and Chavo Guerrero. The match was probably the best pure wrestling match of the night with Chavo working on Benoit's ribs for the duration. The end comes following the normal triple German suplexes, diving headbutt, and crossface finisher.

The second match was most definitely the worst. Scotty Too Hotty (isn't he part of witness protection? I haven't seen him in anything meaningful in six years!) against an unknown named George Murdoch. I haven't heard or read anything about Murdoch and that is possibly because he sucks on levels not seen since Nathan Jones. Anyway, Murdoch took the win with a powerslam.

The third match of the night saw CM Punk and Hardcore Holly square off and, even after two really stiff forearms across the chest, Punk latched on the Anaconda Vice for the win. Punk's got a great charisma with the crowd and it's easy to tell he's next in line for the ECW title. Pretty good match, especially for one involving Buttplug Holly.

Tommy Dreamer & Sandman vs. Davairi & Great Khali- the match actually turned out to be more of a comedy match, which is kind of surprising. Sandman and Khali went back and forth and seemed to be having a good time. It's the most expression I've seen from Khali since he debuted.

Gregory Helms vs. Matt Hardy was next and, while not up to their previous series of matches, was still decent. The crowd erupted for Hardy and, eventually, he won with a Twist of Fate.

Kane vs. MVP in a Last Man Standing Match never really got going because Kennedy hit the ring and saved MVP. Kane chased them to the back and we never saw any of them the rest of the night.

The final match before intermission featured Rob Van Dam taking on Sabu in an Extreme Rules match. Van Dam took a pretty wicked chair to the knee. Sabu threw Van Dam into the crowd, had everyone move away, and then proceeded to balance himself on the top rope before suicide diving into the third row. Pretty cool. Van Dam eventually took the win with a Five Star Frog Splash after Sabu missed a legdrop through a table.

After a brief intermission, Sylvan hosted a Diva Bikini Contest featuring Kelly Kelly, Ashley, Kristal Marshall, and Rebecca DiPietro. All the ladies looked gorgeous. Before a winner could be determined, Santa Claus made an appearance. After several minutes of back and forth with Sylvan, Santa revealed himself to be Big Dick Johnson. After chasing Kristal off, he semi-danced with the other divas. Sylvan stayed behind and was taken out by The Boogeyman.

Bobby Lashley vs. Test for the ECW Championship was mercifully short and, in actuality, was better because of it. Lashley picked up the win with a spear.

The main event saw Batista defend the World Championship against King Booker in a steel cage match. After waiting thirty minutes for the cage to be set up, both men made their entrance with Batista's blowing anyone else's pop out of the water. The match wasn't a classic but it was enjoyable and ended with Batista taking the win with a Batista Bomb.

As I said above, it wasn't a blow away show but it was very enjoyable and, as a paying customer, that's all anyone cares about.

Biggest Pops:
1. Batista
2. CM Punk
3. Sandman
4. Lashley
5. Kane

Most Heat:
1. King Booker
2. Test
3. Chavo Guerrero
4. MVP
5. Davairi/Great Khali

RVD vs Sabu sounded like the best match of the night. Figures!
