UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre (Pictures) will not make his first 170-pound title defense Feb. 3 versus Matt Serra (Pictures), the UFC announced in its Web site Tuesday, as an injured knee will keep the French-Canadian fighter out of action.
St. Pierre stopped longtime champion Matt Hughes (Pictures) in November to capture the belt, and was slated to face Serra after the New Yorker won a tight decision over Chris Lytle (Pictures) during the finale of The Ultimate Fighter 4. The UFC did not reveal whether Serra would remain on the card, nor did it say when St. Pierre is expected to return to the cage.
