The rumored Welterweight mega-fight between top contenders Sean Sherk and Nick Diaz has been made official for the UFC 59 "Reality Check" show from Anaheim, California scheduled for April 15.

Diaz is coming off a double-duty shift fighting Joe Riggs once in the octagon and later in the hospital on the same night. He lost the sanctioned bout, but is back to try and rebuild his stock at 170 lbs. against one of the most explosive and powerful fighters in the division.

Sean Sherk last fought in the UFC against Georges St. Pierre, a one-sided affair that didn't go past one round. Sherk was bested that night, but comes in now much like Diaz, looking for a big win against a top contender.

The main-events that night will be Andrei Arlovski defending his Heavyweight title against Tim Sylvia in a rematch, and Tito Ortiz takes on Ultimate Fighter winner Forrest Griffin.

Also confirmed for the card thus far is David Terrell vs. Scott Smith, Jeremy Horn vs. Evan Tanner, Thiago Alves vs. Drew Fickett, and Karo Parisyan vs. Nick Thomson.
