Goldberg On Law & Order, WWE Running In High School, Ratings News

Former WCW and WWE World champion Bill Goldberg will be appearing on the NBC drama Law & Order: SVU on February 6th. Goldberg plays a character named "Cupid". He filmed the appearance back in November in New York City. Also, Goldberg will commentating for Showtime's upstart MMA company, EliteXC in the near future.

It was reported a few months ago that WWE would start running some shows in high schools. That has come to fruition because WWE will be running a SmackDown/ECW fundraiser show at Liberty Central High School (http://www.libertyk12.org/highschool/highmain.shtml) on Saturday, March 10th in Liberty, NY. Click here (http://www.wwe.com/schedules/events/eventdetail/?id=3948306) for more information. The last time WWE ran a show at a high school was in 1995.

There is an interesting article on WWE.com in which WWE gives themselves a hearty pat on the back for kicking off 2007 by dominating the cable ratings just like they did in 2006. WWE is claiming that the 1/1 edition of RAW drew 2.5 million new viewers, and apparently 9 million total viewers overall. Although, the show only did a 3.9 cable rating, which is slightly above their recent average. The article then kind of goes off tangent by bringing up the Outback Bowl (featuring Penn State vs. Tennessee) that aired on ESPN over New Year's night and that it "barely" beat out RAW in the ratings that day. WWE then applauds the fans for going to sleep early on New Year's eve so that they could wake up in time to watch RAW about 20 hours later. Click here to read the WWE.com article (http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/3877160221), which reads like a press release.
