Blaming lower than expected ticket sales on the UFC's scheduling of a card in Seminole, Fla. five days after Wes Sims was to fight Jeff Monson at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, the fledgling Gracie Fighting Championships on Friday postponed its Jan. 20 pay-per-view card.
"Under the recommendation of the venue, the producers are pushing the date back to mid-March," the GFC said via e-mail. No statement regarding already-sold tickets was issued.
I'm not too surprised by this. The MMA world is getting overcrowded lately and GFC hasn't really done anything to set themselves apart or sign guys that can compete in big money matches.
