Jersey All Pro Wrestling debuted at the Tab Ramos Sports Center in Aberdeen, New Jersey last night before a crowd of approximately 700-750. The show was originally scheduled for Rahway, New Jersey (JAPW's main building) but was moved due to a conflict with another event. The promotion was obviously not expecting the large crowd (the building is in a residential neighborhood and a lot of families showed up), as they hadn't bothered to set up bleachers that were available in the building and didn't have enough chairs set up on the floor. As a result, there was a funny scene of fans being handed chairs as they walked in the door to set up and sit in.

In the opening match, Bandito Jr. defeated Danny Demanto with his feet on the ropes after E.C. Negro hit Demanto with a chair. After the match, La Familia (Negro, Bandito & Don Montoya) beat down Demanto until Archadia made the save.

Grim Reefer won a four way match over Javi Air, Plazma & Corvis Fear when Reefer forced Plazma to submit to the STF. Lots of highspots, which the kids in the crowd really popped for.

JAPW Heavyweight Champion Rhino, with Johnny D. & Alicia) defeated Raven with the Gore after Johnny D. interfered. Prior to the match, Rhino and Johnny D. cut a promo on Monty Brown (his original opponent) being afraid of him. They announced they had an open contract for anyone to face him, bringing out Raven. Rhino and Raven coming out easily got the biggest reactions of any entrances that night. The two brawled outside the ring, and the whole match was less than seven minutes, but the crowd ate it up.

Alicia defeated Alexa Thatcher with a sitdown power bomb. A little rough in spots, and the fans didn't react much to this. At one point Johnny D., at ringside for Alicia, whipped Thatcher into the guardrails.

E.C. Negro defeated Archadia with a top rope legdrop. Good match, which was helped by the angle in the opener. Post match, La Familia beat down Archadia, with Demanto coming out to make the save. Would appear they are building towards a tag match on a future show.

Charlie Haas defeated Frankie Kazarian with a hand-spring into a standing moonsault. Prior to the match, Kazarian cut a promo ripping on Haas for going back to WWE, asking if we would be seeing the "WWE Haas" or the Haas who works hard in the ring. Crowd died down in the middle of this match, which went about 12 minutes, but picked up at the end. They did a few spots where Haas would go for the Haas Of Pain, but Kazarian would immediately do anything to get away from it.

Following intermission, JAPW Tag Team Champions The SAT defeated The Outcast Killaz after hitting Spanish Fly on Tortuga. After the match, the Outkast Killaz and La Familia beat down the SAT and left them laying. The Maximos have put on some weight since I last saw them, but still pulled off the Spanish Fly smoothly.

JAPW Junior Heavyweight Champion Teddy Hart defeated Azrieal with a 450 splash. Hart was his usual self on the mic before the match, talking about how much he cares for the kids, and bringing four of them (although one looked old enough to HAVE kids) into the ring and giving them T-Shirts. Good match, Azrieal, who had a great feud with Jay Lethal last year, is still getting better in the ring.

A.J. Styles defeated Jay Lethal in a fantastic match, easily the match of the night. It went about 20 minutes, with the fans really into both competitors. It seemed to me that the JAPW regulars were into Lethal, while the new fans were more into Styles. TNA should consider putting this match on PPV in the future. Everything the two did was crisp, and at one point Styles took Lethal's head off with a dropkick. The finishing sequence saw them rolling through several reversals before Styles locked in the Styles Clash for the win to a big pop. After the match, Styles took the mic and said "JAPW. Jay Lethal. TNA." then shook Lethal's hand before leaving. Lethal then got a chant and round of applause from the fans.

Johnny D came out to cut a promo about how he head Abyss was coming to JAPW to challenge Rhino, but that he knew Abyss wasn't coming, because he was afraid of the JAPW Champion. Johnny remarked that he "sent Rhino home" because he knew Abyss wouldn't be there. Abyss came in through the crowd, gave Johnny D an over the shoulder backbreaker, then gave Alicia two Black Hole Slams (the second at the request of the fans) to set up Abyss vs. Rhino for April 29th in Rahway, New Jersey.

In the main event, Homicide & Low Ki defeated Sonjay Dutt & Sabu. Dutt came out alone, and fought the match in handicap style for the first half of the eighteen minute bout, which was probably too long. Dutt was pounded down, with Low Ki and Homicide remarking at one point that the had killed him, and were setting him up for a Cop Killer (Vertebreaker)/Top Rope stomp combo when Sabu entered through the crowd with a chair. Sabu hit many of his trademark spots, getting a pop, but Abyss ran in and gave Sabu the Black Hold Slam, allowing Homicide to get the pin on Sabu.

Notes: A lot of the wrestlers on the show were working double-shots that evening, which led to a few problems, although the company handled them reasonably well. Rhino and Raven went on early, and since they were the most recognizable names to the younger fans, it resulted in them (and their parents) leaving before the end of the show. As the show got later (it went past 11:30pm), more of the families left, and by the time the main event hit the ring, I'd say a few hundred had left. ... Abyss hadn't even pulled into the parking lot when his segment began, forcing Johnny D. and announcer Mark Clemson to stretch for time before he made his entrance. ... Sabu arrived just before the main event began, and was lacing up his boots in the parking lot before making his entrance. ... A few fans were confused about Abyss acting like a babyface in one segment (beating up Johnny & Alicia) and a heel in the next (attacking Sabu), but it fits in with TNA storylines if nothing else, although Rhino is a face in TNA. ... JAPW was thrilled with the turnout, and realize that with the types of fans they were drawing here (families and young kids), they can't run that late again. They do plan on making Aberdeen a regular stop for them in the future, with a show already planned for the summer. ... The show was videotaped for release with commentary by Mark Clemson and Don Montoya. ... For more on Jersey All Pro Wrestling, visit www.japw.net.

I hope that TWC can start showing some JAPW action soon. Because we've got 1PW debuting next Sunday, and JAPW like 1PW is a company i've heard great things about, but have yet to see any action from.
