FORGET about Anna Nicole Smith's boob-baring antics, this year's MTV awards are set to stage the stoush of the Sydney "It" girls.
Just days before the pop extravaganza, Confidential can reveal upcoming supermodel Cheyenne Tozzi threw a super-sized tantrum when her surfing champion boyfriend Taj Burrow was asked to present an award with tourism pin-up girl Lara "bloody" Bingle.
Never far from a bungle since her rise to fame as the face of Tourism Australia's controversial ad campaign, beach babe Bingle was invited by MTV organisers to present the Best Hip Hop gong alongside waxhead Burrow at the hyped event next Wednesday.
Happy to prolong her 15 minutes of fame in front of billions of MTV viewers worldwide, Bingle, 18, agreed, but we hear sparks started flying when fellow Sutherland Shire stunner Tozzi found she had been upstaged.
According to MTV insiders, Tozzi, 17, "did everything she could" to prevent the presentation from going ahead, including numerous phone calls to organisers threatening a no-show from Burrow if the line-up wasn't changed.
Unperturbed and safe in the knowledge that Bingle had already signed on, amused MTV heads told Tozzi Burrow was dispensable and that they didn't care if he showed up or not.
It was only then a defeated Tozzi backed down, and Bingle and Burrow are finally locked in to share the stage.
Agents for the two dismissed the reports as being "ridiculous" yesterday, but Tozzi will no doubt watch the duo with green eyes next week.
