BREMEN, Germany -- Germany captain Michael Ballack will leave German league leaders Bayern Munich for Premier League champions Chelsea, Munich manager Uli Hoeness believes.
"I am pretty certain that Michael Ballack will go to Chelsea," Hoeness told pay TV channel Premiere on Saturday ahead of Munich's Bundesliga match at Werder Bremen.
Ballack, 29, has been linked with the English club for the past weeks, but has so far not announced where he will play once his contract expires on June 30.
He can leave on a free transfer and Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho has in the past expressed his interest in Ballack.
Hoeness said it was only natural that Ballack wasn't saying anything yet because a big contract like the one he will likely get at Chelsea takes time to finalize.
