JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) -- Yohannes Christian John of Indonesia retained his WBA featherweight title with a unanimous decision over Jose "Cheo" Rojas of Venezuela on Saturday.
The three ring judges awarded John the victory in the 12-round fight 118-108, 117-107 and 116-110.
John knocked down Rojas in the second and fourth rounds with right hooks, but Rojas forced the fight to go all 12 rounds more than two years after their first bout ended in a technical draw.
Rojas shook John with a hard left hook in the fifth round, and forced bleeding from John's left eyebrow in the last round.
It was the second title bout between the two and the seventh title defense for John, who won the championship by defeating Oscar Leon of Colombia in September 2003.
The victory extended John's record to 39-1-0, while Rojas' fell to 23-1-6.
