LONDON (AP) - Chelsea rallied past West Ham 4-1 Sunday after playing most of the game with only 10 men in the English Premier League.

James Collins gave the visitors the lead in the 10th minute, and Chelsea midfielder Maniche was ejected seven minutes later for a mistimed tackle on defender Lionel Scaloni. But Didier Drogba tied the score in the 28th minute and then set up Hernan Crespo for another goal in the 31st.

Drogba scored off his own rebound, and Crespo scored off a cross from Drogba that was deflected in front of the goal.

John Terry made it 3-1 in the 54th, putting in a rebound after William Gallas hit the crossbar. Gallas tipped in the fourth goal in the 69th minute.

"To be with 10 men for so long and win 4-1 is impressive," Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho said. "They played very well from the first minute. There was no fear and the spirit was amazing."

Chelsea leads the league with 82 points, seven points ahead of Manchester United, which beat Arsenal 2-0.

Wayne Rooney scored in the 54th and Park Ji-sung added the second for United in the 78th. Arsenal, which had striker Thierry Henry on the bench to start, is sixth but has played a game less.

Liverpool, with 70 points, kept up its chase for second place with a 1-0 win over Bolton.

Two weeks ago, Bayern had held a 10-point lead and looked certain to retain its title.

I watched the Chelsea game yesterday, and they played better with 10 men than they did when they had 11 on the pitch. Hope they drop points at Bolton on Saturday, seeing as that will throw the title race wide open and give us a chance of closing the gap on Chelsea.
