JUNE POINTER, the youngest of the Pointer siblings, died of cancer at UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica today. She was 52.
According to a statement released on her behalf, the singer passed away in the arms of her sisters, RUTH and ANITA and her brothers, AARON and FRITZ, by her side. Although her sister, BONNIE, was unable to be present, she was with her in spirit.
"June was my buddy," DIONNE WARWICK told ET. "She was beautiful. It's a great talent lost. It really is a shame."
The POINTER SISTERS were a staple of the 1980s music world, famous for songs such as "Jump (For My Love)" and "He's So Shy."
