Mikael Silvestre says Manchester United will be determined to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge to salvage some pride as the season draws to a close.

Despite a late flurry from The Red Devils, Chelsea are now just one point from retaining the Premiership trophy and could seal their crown on April 29 when United visit London, live on Sky Sports 1.

After suffering the embarrassment of forming a guard of honour for The Blues last season at Old Trafford, Silvestre insists Sir Alex Ferguson's side are keen to redeem themselves somewhat by completing a domestic double over their rivals.

Although they seem ultimately destined to fall short for the third season in a row, the French left back believes United can recapture some pride with a strong performance and that the lure of the World Cup has resulted in a greater resolve at Old Trafford this season.

"We want to get a result there for our pride as much as anything," said Silvestre.

"We have beaten Chelsea already, so let's see what we can achieve at Stamford Bridge.

"Compared to the last two seasons, when we didn't have too much conviction in the final few games, this season is different with everyone fighting for places in the team and at the World Cup."

I think he needs to put his will power into something else, I beleive that Chelsea will win this match, thus securing the Championship for a second season in a row.
