PRIME Minister John Howard has condemned the terrorists behind triple bomb blasts in Egypt that killed 23 people and injured more than 60 including two Australian women.

The Australians, a 27-year-old from New South Wales and a 36-year-old from Melbourne, have been evacuated by the Egyptian air force to Cairo suffering face and body cuts.
A third Australian suffered severe shock in the attack.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has urged travellers to Egypt to exercise a high degree of caution and warned of other possible attacks at tourist areas and popular destinations such as Hurghada, Luxor, Aswan, Giza, Alexandria, Red Sea and Sinai resorts.

Mr Howard said the attack was a reminder of the huge challenge that terrorism posed.

"I want to join others in unreservedly condemning what is obviously another terrorist attack," Mr Howard said.
