Mick Foley sat down with the guys at The Sun newspaper here in the UK recently to do one of their prized wrestlecast podcasts. Heres a recap of the candid main points.

The interview started off with some comedy when Mick was asked why he got all the divas. He replied saying Trish refers to him as the "Safety Valve."

He commented on being in the most pain in his life with the herniated disc injury he'd been suffering with. He says he couldn't sit or stand.

Shortly after he talked about not being on Mania and that he had a great plan for an angle on the following Raw but it was turned down by management. "I'm not even Backlash material."

When asked about the "Make A Wish" edition of Raw with Michael Pena he commented on how easy the kid took to being on camera and that he was doing his lines so well Mick deliberately messed up a few takes to lengthen the enjoyable experience.

He admitted that he is overly critical of his in ring performances but joked that he wasn't as bad as Benoit who once forced himself to do 500 squats for messing up a move in Japan.

Following that he discussed his disappointment with Terry Funk's involvement in WWE and that he was upset that Vince did not get physically involved in an angle with Funk.

Mick feels that he has a lot of good ideas that could work out on WWE TV but is becoming frustrated by the ideas being shot down. He just wants to make compelling TV.

Being close friends with Melina he commented on the recent heat she's been getting, saying it's probably exaggerated a lot. He said that Melina had "the dream" to become a Pro Wrestler whereas many of the Divas have accidentally been signed to contracts and just fell out of modeling jobs.

At one point in time he considered Stephanie McMahon as one of his best friends in the company.

The Interviewers from The Sun then brought up a UK interview with Ric Flair where he bashed TNA, "just guys doing flips," and that Mick Foley "is not worthy of lacing up a pair of wrestling boots." Mick replied by saying Ric was over to promote Backlash and that you do not put down the talent of the show you are supposed to be pugging.

On TNA he mentions that they are not pushing and utilizing characters that the fans really care about and that every wrestler that goes there becomes "just another guy." He was glad that he didn't go to TNA although he would have enjoyed the freedom and working environment.

Finally he says that he would be sure "to do it all again," referring to his many high spot matches and that he wants Terry funk to induct him in to the Hall Of Fame if he was ever offered.
