Shields Amused by Giving Birth on Same Day As Cruise & Holmes
Actress Brooke Shields is amused by the fact she gave birth to daughter Grier the same day Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' daughter Suri was born, claiming "the irony is perfect." The stars engaged in a public battle of words last year, after the Mission: Impossible star criticized the actress for taking anti-depressants after the birth of her first child Rowan. She explains, "You know, the irony is perfect. The world works in an interesting way, but we (were) both pretty busy that day." The 40-year-old gave birth to her second child with TV producer-husband Chris Henchy on April 18, reportedly in the same Los Angeles hospital as Holmes. She adds, "Yeah, rumor has it. Again, I was pretty distracted." When asked if she had any run-ins with Cruise at the hospital she says, "No. God, no." The Suddenly Susan star chose to take the high road when discussing Cruise adding, "It's a gift having kids, you know, so it's a beautiful thing rather than anything else."
