The Red Piano show has run in Las Vegas for two years
Sir Elton John's entire European Red Piano tour has been cancelled.

The six dates in five European cities were shelved after the tour promoter said it "could not guarantee to put the shows on".

The Red Piano shows, developed in Las Vegas, are separate to other Elton John concerts, which are unaffected.

The cancelled concerts are in Venice (5 and 6 June), Berlin (22 June), Moscow (3 July), Paris (9 September) and Seville (14 September).

The Red Piano concerts involve a ambitious stage design with video screens and giant inflatable props.

Disappointed fans

They were created for Sir Elton's regular appearances at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas.

The Seville concert had already been put back from an original 18 May slot for "technical reasons".

A spokesman added: "We do of course appreciate that Elton's fans will be disappointed at this news, and we are already looking into the possibility of returning to the affected cities in the very near future."

Red Piano shows in Las Vegas this autumn are due to go ahead as planned.

More than a dozen concerts by Elton John and his band, including summer dates in the UK, are still going ahead.
