Former "Friends" star MATTHEW PERRY's NBC pilot "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" has been given a definite pickup for the fall 2006 season, marking the Emmy nominated actor's return to the peacock network. The series was written by AARON SORKIN of "West Wing" fame, and also stars AMANDA PEET, BRADLEY WHITFORD, D.L. HUGHLEY and TIMOTHY BUSFIELD.

"Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" is a drama about the humor of producing a fictional late-night comedy sketch show, along the lines of "Saturday Night Live," exploring the behind-the-scenes politics and romances. Matthew plays Matt Albie, half of a creative team that is being hired to resurrect the program, which has a huge public relations problem. Bradley will play his partner Danny Tripp.

Along with Aaron, the series will be executive produced by THOMAS SCHLAMME.
