TNA iMPACT RESULTS - JUNE 28, 2007

KURT ANGLE RETAINS THE WORLD TITLE • CAN HE AND SAMOA JOE CO-EXIST AT VICTORY ROAD?
On Thursday’s “iMPACT!” broadcast on SpikeTV, it was one night and one match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship as Kurt Angle defended against “The Instant Classic” Christian Cage and “The War Machine” Rhino.

Prior to the bout, new X Division Champion Samoa Joe was introduced to provide color commentary, but Joe instead attacked his nemesis Kurt Angle and brutalized him throughout the arena. Joe was eventually kicked out by Jim Cornette as the match finally got underway.

Following the mayhem and chaos during this amazing World Title bout, Angle was able to get the win over Rhino with the Olympic Slam only after interference by “Cowboy” James Storm, who once again spit his beer in Rhino’s face!

Now, it will be longtime enemies teaming up at Victory Road as TNA World Champion Kurt Angle joins forces with X Champion Samoa Joe to face the TNA World Tag Team Champions! Can Joe and Angle co-exist in the main event bout on July 15 on Pay-Per-View or will all hell break loose between the bitter rivals?

- During the title match, Christian Cage was attacked not only by Abyss but also by “Wildcat” Chris Harris as well! Cage has made so many enemies in recent weeks that he was become public enemy number one in TNA Wrestling. However, when Tomko and AJ Styles attempted to help Cage, the icon Sting made his way to ringside to even the odds and join Abyss and Harris in pummeling Cage’s crew!

- Next Thursday on “iMPACT!” it will be Team 3D’s turn to defend the TNA World Tag Team Title against The Latin American Xchange and the team of AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels! If Team 3D wants to survive to make it to the main event at Victory Road, they’ll have to get past both former World Tag Team Champions in LAX and the reuniting Styles & Daniels.
