Former Black Cap makes the move to Indian Cricket League.
Former New Zealand all-rounder Andre Adams is the latest Black Cap to join the Indian Cricket League after turning his back on Auckland.
Adams has terminated his contract with the Aces after penning a two-year deal with the rebel Twenty20 tournament in India.
The 32-year-old joins the likes of Shane Bond and former Auckland team-mate Daryl Tuffey along with six other former New Zealanders in the Indian competition.
The second edition of the ICL starts next month and their lucrative contracts continue to attract international players to the sub-continent.
Sadness
Adams was disappointed to be leaving Auckland, but found the lucrative contract in India too good to turn down.
"I am sad that by accepting the ICL contract, Auckland Cricket and I have to terminate my domestic contract as I have always been very proud to play for the Aces," said Adams.
"However I am pleased that I will be able to complete the State Shield campaign before my ICL obligations commence - this is very important to me.
"Playing in the ICL offers me the opportunity to secure my family's future and is an opportunity I simply cannot turn down.
"It also offers me the opportunity to play in India with and against some high profile players and I am excited about this challenge."
Adams played county cricket for both Essex and Nottinghamshire and took two wickets on Wednesday in Auckland's State Shield defeat against Canterbury.
