£5,000 box of chocs

The world's most expensive box of chocolates has gone on sale at Harrods at £5,000 a box.

Each box of 49 chocs is personalised for the buyer and wrapped with leather and handmade silk, reports the Daily Mirror.

The chocolates are made from organic cocoa and each is decorated with gold and a Swarowski crystal, flower or silk rose.

Harrods spokesman Andre Dang said: "Customers have asked for a product such as this with the 'wow' factor."

They are made by Lebanese chocolatier Patchi whose chairman Nizar Choucair said: "This is dedicated to customers who wish to have a bold and memorable experience."
