John Sergeant: Pop star?

John Sergeant is to release a single this Christmas, it has been claimed.

The former political journalist turned British public darling is said to have gone into the studio to record the festive anthem.

"Let's Not Fight This Christmas" features "One Show" presenters Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley, fellow "Strictly Come Dancing" contestant.

The track, written by Chris Difford from Squeeze, is expected to challenge whichever contestant wins "X-Factor" for the Number One on December 25.

"Let's Not Fight This Christmas" is out on December 8.
