Dancing with the Stars duo engaged

Two of the professional dancers on the US version of 'Strictly Come Dancing', 'Dancing with the Stars', have become engaged.

E! News quotes a source as saying that Maksim Chmerkovskiy proposed to Karina Smirnoff on New Year's Eve just before midnight.

The engagement comes six months after 30-year-old Smirnoff split up with former 'Dancing with the Stars' contestant and dance partner Mario Lopez.
She began dating 28-year-old Chmerkovskiy shortly after the split.

No wedding date has been announced.
