WrestleMania 25 - Full Numbers

WrestleMania 25 on April 5 in Houston, TX at the Reliant Stadium last Sunday featured 147 minutes of wrestling in a three hour and 57 minute show, which is one of the longest featured wrestling times in company history. The prior record was WrestleMania 20 that featured 139 minutes of wrestling, followed by WrestleMania 19 and WrestleMania 13 that featured 130 minutes of wrestling. It was also the second longest WrestleMania presentation just behind WrestleMania by running four hours and 33 minutes.

JBL vs. Rey Mysterio ended up as the third shortest WrestleMania match in history clocking in at :21 seconds. Last year's match at WrestleMania 24 between Kane and Chavo Guerrero at :09 seconds was the shortest. Others include Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart defeating Boris Zhukov & Nikolai Volkoff at WrestleMania 6 in :19 seconds and Hulk Hogan vs. Yokozuna at WrestleMania 9 going :21 seconds, with JBL and Mysterio tying that record this past Sunday. In total, there have been seven matches held under one minute at past WrestleMania events. Another that shouldn't be ignored was the "Brawl for All" finals and the only shoot match in WrestleMania history between Butterbean and Bart Gunn which saw Butterbean knock out Gunn in :35 seconds at WrestleMania 15.

The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels match, which clocked in at 33 minutes and 41 seconds, was the second longest match in WrestleMania history only trailing the Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels Iron Man match (for obvious reason) at WrestleMania 12 which went 61 minutes and 52 seconds. It is also interesting to note that of the five longest matches in WrestleMania history, Shawn Michaels has been involved in four of them. This includes his Iron Man match with Bret Hart (61:52), his match with The Undertaker this year at WrestleMania 25 (33:41), his match with John Cena at WrestleMania 23 (28:20) and his match with Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 21 (27:25). The only other match not involving Michaels was Steve Austin vs. The Rock at WrestleMania 17 which ran 28 minutes and 06 seconds. Many have pointed out that while no one denies Michaels as the one of the greatest WrestleMania performers in history, you also can't deny that he has been given a great opportunity for that spot over anyone else.
