Independent Wrestler Passes Away Following Training Session
INDEPENDENT WRESTLER PASSES AWAY FOLLOWING TRAINING SESSION, REPORTS CBS NEWS IN PHILADELPHIA
Independent wrestler Matt "Riot" Lowry passed away Tuesday, a day after he was rushed to Hahnemann Hospital following an incident while training at the ECW Arena, CBS channel 3 in Philadelphia reported tonight.
Lowry, who was only 22 years old, died from head injuries according to police statements CBS, However, someone who was training Lowry (but not identified by name in the CBS report) stated that Lowry suffered an aneurysm while warming up for the training session. An autopsy to determine the cause of death is scheduled tomorrow.
The official website for The Arena lists wrestling training on Mondays as being conducted by Combat Zone Wrestling, which regularly runs the venue.
Lowry had wrestled for several independent groups in the Mid-West, including EWF and AIW but of late had been staying in New Jersey, according to the report.

Phila. Police Probe Mysterious Death Of Wrestler
PHILADELPHIA (CBS 3) ― Philadelphia Police are investigating the mysterious death of a minor league professional wrestler.
Matt "Riot" Lowry died at Hahnemann University Hospital Tuesday following a training exercise in South Philadelphia Monday evening.
Following the exercise at "The Arena" building on Ritner Street Monday, Lowry was rushed to Hahnemann Hospital.
The 22-year-old passed away Tuesday from what police said was severe head injuries.
A man who trained Lowry told CBS 3 that the athlete was not injured inside the ring. The man said Lowry suffered an aneurysm while warming up outside the ring.
Lowry was originally from Ohio, but neighbors said he was living with a friend in Westville, New Jersey.
An autopsy to determine Lowry's exact cause of death is scheduled for Wednesday.
