Bret Michaels: 'I'm lucky to be alive'
Bret Michaels has spoken to the media for the first time since suffering a brain haemorrhage on April 21.
The rocker told People that he feels "lucky to be alive" and that doctors asked if he had children when he arrived at the hospital.
"I said these exact words, 'Am I dying? If I’m dying, I want to see my kids, but if I have a chance, I don’t want them to see me in this condition'."
The former Poison frontman has two daughters, Raine, 9, and Jorja, 5.
He is expected to make a full recovering and is currently getting rehabilitative physiotherapy.
