Danielson Makes Final Indy Appearance

United States champion Daniel Bryan made his final independent wrestling appearance at last night's Northeast Wrestling event, defeating former WWE star Shelton Benjamin in their first ever meeting. I was told the show drew in the area of 1,400 fans in Waterbury, CT.

Speaking of Bryan, in the new WWE Magazine, he noted that his return was kept such a secret that when he arrived at Summerslam, he was put in a room that had the door curtained off, so no one knew it was there, then they cleared out the gorilla position so no one would see him before he came out. Reading that is sort of funny since we reported a few hours before he returned on camera in the Elite section of PWI that he would be returning and WWE.com even had an article about his return up 45 minutes before he appeared on camera.
