Former WWE Developmental Talent Dies
I am sorry to report the passing of former WWE developmental talent "Bad Seed" Shawn Osborne (Shawn McGrath), who a number of sources have confirmed passed away today. I haven't heard any circumstances of his death yet. Osborne was 34 at the time of his death. Osborne originally trained under Les Thatcher and Cody Hawk at the Heartland Wrestling Association in Ohio, where he held the HWA championship. He was signed to a developmental deal in the summer of 2006 after working several dark matches.
He soon debuted in Ohio Valley Wrestling and quick was booked as a member ofof Mike Kruel's stable Bad Kompany, alongside Roucka (now Rosa Mendes) and Eddie Craven. During that run, Osborne, who was a funny talker, did a bit where he pretended to be blind to get heat.
When WWE cut ties with OVW, he was transferred to Deep South and then Florida Championship Wrestling but was released in February 2008. He had made some independent appearances in the Southeast, including Full Impact Pro, but I hadn't heard his name mentioned in a long time.
Our deepest condoleces to Shawn McGrath's friends and family during this sad time.
Former WWE developmental star Shawn Osborne's death was self-inflicted. He emailed out a letter to a number of close friends before taking his life. Again, our deepest condolences to Osborne's friends and family.
