TV show creator takes swipe at Sheen
Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre has taken a swipe at troubled star Charlie Sheen during the last scheduled episode of the show.
At the end of the episode, which aired last night in the US, a slate appeared with a message from the creator.
"I exercise regularly. I eat moderate amounts of healthy food. I make sure to get plenty of rest," the message read.
"I see my doctor once a year and my dentist twice a year. I floss every night. I've had chest x-rays, cardio stress tests, EKG's [heart checks] and colonoscopies.
"I see a psychologist and have a variety of hobbies to reduce stress. I don’t drink. I don’t smoke. I don’t do drugs. I don’t have crazy, reckless sex with strangers.
"If Charlie Sheen outlives me, I'm gonna be really pissed."
The message follows a radio interview with Sheen yesterday, in which he blamed the producers for stalling the show's production.
Two and a Half Men has been placed on forced hiatus following the 45-year-old star's highly-publicised drug problems and recent hospitalisation.
"[The execs] said, 'You get ready and we'll get ready', and I got ready and went back and nobody was there," Sheen said on the Dan Patrick radio show yesterday.
"I'm here and I'm ready. They're not. Bring it."
Gossip website TMZ questioned Sheen today following Lorre's on-air jab, but he seemed unfazed by the message.
"Chuck, I will outlive you. I will piss you off," Sheen said, before adding: "I miss you, man."
Last night's note on Two and a Half Men was not the first time Lorre, 58, has weighed in on Sheen's behaviour.
Two weeks ago the Hollywood heavyweight also referenced Sheen's problems in an on-air message.
"Do not attempt to replicate what you saw in tonight's episode of Two and a Half Men," the message read.
"Please keep in mind that we employ a highly-paid Hollywood professional who has years of experience with putting his life at risk. And sadly no, I'm not talking about our stunt man."
It has been predicted that the producers of Two and a Half Men stand to lose $250 million in syndication deals and advertising revenue if Sheen does not return to the show.
The self-destructive star has been followed closely by the media after months of wild behaviour and partying.
Video footage emerged earlier this month of Sheen dancing wildly in his house with three women at the start of an alleged 36-hour cocaine-fuelled binge.
This followed rumours of a drug overdose and dalliances with a number of porn stars.
A legal battle erupted in October after he allegedly trashed a New York hotel room and became aggressive while partying with porn star Capri Anderson.
In August, he pleaded guilty in Aspen, Colorado, to misdemeanour third-degree assault after a Christmas Day attack on his wife, Brooke Mueller Sheen.
Prosecutors dropped more serious charges and he avoided jail time, instead being sentenced to 30 days in a rehabilitation centre, 30 days of probation and 36 hours of anger management.
