And aside from the quality of the book, plenty of attention is thanks to double-take-caliber gossipy anecdotes — like the time in the late 1980s Freddie Mercury disguised Princess Diana as a man and sneaked her into the Royal Vauxhall Tavern in South London, a legendary gay bar, according to Rocos. Rather than being instantly discovered, Diana enjoyed total anonymity while patrons mobbed Mercury and Rocos, a popular TV personality at the time.
