Results: CZW - 11th feb 2006 (Philadelphia, PA)

Combat Zone Wrestling returned to the ECW Arena last night despite the snowstorm that blanketed the Northeast for its seventh anniversary show "Seven Years Strong: Settling The Score!" before a crowd of 300 plus. This was a truly fun show, as those who braved the winter weather, were vocal and enthusiastic, if a bit irreverent.

The show appeared to have been re-booked in places, which had some wondering if some sort of ROH involvement in the show had been planned prior to the threats of winter weather (and ROH's own need to re-book after three TNA wrestlers were pulled from their show, due to fears they'd be stuck in the Northeast and not able to make it to tonight's TNA PPV)

Junior Showcase Match (Gauntlet style):

Sabian won the Junior Showcase match top become the number one contender for the Junior Heavyweight Title. Hallowicked, Jigsaw, and Niles Young started out. Hallowicked is the first wrestler eliminated by Niles Young via schoolboy rollup. Heretic then came in. Highspots galore followed with a sequence that saw Jigsaw hitting a somersault plancha on Niles Young, Heretic then hitting a 450 into the mess. As this was going on, Sabian made his way to the ring and hits Heretic with a nasty dropkick, a double knee charge and super hurricanrana on Niles Young, and a tornado DDT on Jigsaw, still followed by a reverse headscissors out of the corner by Sabian on Heretic, followed by a pescado onto Jigsaw.

Niles Young eliminated Heretic with the Bam Mar-Chair-A. Sabian puts Jigsaw in the Nieblina and hit a senton for a pinfall. The match wound down to Sabian and Niles Young. Niles misses a frog splash onto chairs and soon catches a chair-assisted top rope double-stomp , allowing Sabian to get the pinfall.

DJ Hyde defeated Andy Sumner and Danny Havoc

Larry Sweeney and The H8 Club defeated Excalibur, Sexxxy Eddy, and Viking

Necro Butcher defeated The Hellaware Assassin and The Messiah in the bloodbath of the evening (this was scheduled early to give Necro Butcher and The Hellaware Assassin the opportunity to get home to Delaware, where they both live, given the worsening snowstorm)

The ultraviolent fun included The Messiah bringing thumbtacks and spread them all over the ring (it should be noted that Necro Butcher is barefoot) Messiah and Hellaware look to suplex Necro Butcher to the outside, but he suplexes them into the ring. In the sick spot of the night, Necro Butcher hits Hellaware with a Roicker Dropper into the pile of thumbtacks. In an especially sick moment, Necro Butcher's foot was coated with thumbtacks after having his feet stomped into the thumbtacks. Hellaware gets hit upside the head with a barbed-wire stick, and pinned for the three-count by Necro Butcher.

Adam Flash (with Pandora) defeated "Spyder" Nate Webb by pinfall.

Webb, makes one of the impromptu moments of the night by inviting CZW photographer WHACKS to dance with him; then a regular, known as "Kane Fan" is invited into the ring, and breaks out a great slam dance. As he's going up the ramp, Webb then brings out two women out, and brings out Sexxxy Eddy to join in the fun.

CZW World Junior Heavyweight Title Match
Sabian and Derek Frazier go to a DQ after interference by Niles Young
Good match, but with a weak ending after the Yougn interference. While it was desgined to set up a ladder match next month, it still left the crowd flat until the next match got going.

CZW World Tag Team Title Match
BLK OUT (Eddie Kingston and Joker) defeated Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli to become new CZW World Tag Team Champions

Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli initially are defending against BLK OUT of Eddie Kingston and Sabian. After the match is ready to start, Lobo (doing the heel commissioner shtick) comes to the ring, and tells Sabian that he can't wrestle in the Tag Title match because "Zandig didn't want to pay him again". Kingston was thus left alone in the ring to do a handicap battle with Castagnoli and Hero.

After Hero and Castagnoli beat the hell out of Kingston for awhile, On comes his music, and out comes Joker to apparently rejoin BLK OUT. Kingston tags Joker, who cleans house. Hero comes back with a Backdrop Driver and a cravate neckbreaker. Hero hits Kingston with the springboard double-stomp, and tags in Castagnoli. Hero and Casatagnoli go for the monkey flip splash, but Kingston is able to grabs Hero off of Claudio's thighs and hit him with a German. Then Hero and Claudio are able to get control again, and hit the monkey flip splash. The finish saw Kingston getting control again with a huge lariat on Hero, but Claudio gets in the ring and starts firing away on Kingston... Kingston and Joker turn things back around and Kingston hits Claudio with the Royal Flush Big Swing DDT for the pinfall and the Tag Team Titles. Post-match, Claudio and Hero in the ring argue, with Hero blaming Castagnoli for the loss.

CZW World Heavyweight Title Match
Ruckus defeats Kevin Steen and Super Dragon to become the 2-time CZW World Heavyweight Champion

Kevin Steen brings up his issues with Super Dragon, notes his PWG record with Dragon, and esentially invites himself into the main event title match. Ruckus comes to the ring and bitches out Steen, but then says "both Steen and Dragon can get their asses whooped tonight..."

The finish saw Dragon hit Ruckus with the Psycho Driver, but then immediately get hit by Steen with the Package Piledriver, sending Dragon to the floor. Ruckus gets up and reverses Steen's attempt at a Package Piledriver attempt into a 'rana for the pinfall, and regains his CZW World Heavyweight Title.

Post match, Steen challenges Super Dragon for a CZW Ironman Title match next month.

CZW returns to the ECW Arena on March 11 for the Ring of Honor/ECW doubleheader at the ECW Arena.
