WWE Champion AJ Styles is closing in on tying a record that was set by a WWE Hall of Famer.

Reddit user FalconArrow123 recently noted that Styles is currently sitting at 383 combined days as WWE Champion and closing in on tying the record set by Shawn Michaels, who held the title for 396 days. Thus, if Styles continues to be champion for the next few weeks then he will soon pass HBK’s position of 13th longest-combined reign as WWE Champion.

If Styles is able to capture this record, then his next target insight would be CM Punk who is in the #12 entry with 463 days. The top record goes to Bruno Sammartino, who held the title for 4,040 days.

Styles is slated to make his next title defense against Rusev at the upcoming Extreme Rules pay-per-view event on Sunday, July 15, 2018 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the PPG Paints Arena that will air on the WWE Network.
