WWE Files For New Trademark

WWE has filed for a new trademark, one that could indicate a new show or PPV. According to a report from PW Insider, WWE applied to trademark the term “Worlds Collide” for wrestling purposes on January 3rd.

Other interesting recent trademarks from WWE include “Work Horse Open Challenge” which was filed this summer. “The Awesome One” was also trademarked by WWE last year.

Many of their recent filings have been for new WWE Network shows. “WWE Kitchen Smackdown” was filed late last year. “Fashion Files: Cold Case Unit” was also trademarked for Tyler Breeze and Fandango’s show on the WWE Network recently.

“When Worlds Collide” was the name of a famous 1994 PPV put on by AAA Lucha Libre in Los Angeles. In a show which drew 13, 000 fans, Konnan defeated Perro Aguayo in the main event. Eddie Guerrero was also featured on the show’s semi-main event, teaming with Art Barr. They lost to the team of Octagon and El Hijo del Santo. ECW used “When Worlds Collide” as the name of a PPV in 1994 as well. It should be noted, however, that WWE has applied to trademark “Worlds Collide”, however, and not “When Worlds Collide.”
