Savio Vega To Challenge Alex Hammerstone For MLW National Championship
Savio Vega will take on MLW’s National Champion Alex Hammerstone when the promotion invades New York’s Melrose Ballroom next Thursday. MLW noted in a press release that the Puerto Rican wrestling legend specifically asked for this match with Hammerstone.
“Vega specifically asked for this fight and given his 30-year resume, Savio is more than a worthy challenger,” said MLW CEO Court Bauer. “This is going to be an unorthodox, unpredictable encounter in Queens.”
Next Thursday’s show is a TV taping for future episodes of MLW Fusion.

“Champions will clash in Queens next Thursday when the newly crowned National Openweight Champion wrestles the reigning Caribbean Champion Savio Vega in an MLW sanctioned National Openweight title bout,” reads an MLW press release.
MLW also announced a TV deal to broadcast Fusion in Africa recently.
