Yota Tsuji vs. Yuya Uemura. Tsuji pins Uemura with a lucha-style roll up. Uemura seemed surprised by the way he lost.

Tomoaki Honma and Satoshi Kojima vs. Jeff Cobb and Great O-Khan. Cobb pins Honma with a Tour of the Islands. The United Empire continue to look dominant.

Ryusuke Taguchi, Juice Robinson, Toa Henare and Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Dick Togo, KENTA, Jay White, with Gedo and EVIL Tanahashi pinned Togo after a High Fly Flow. Fun match. Some comedy spots, but still a good match.

Toa Henare attacked Jay White after the match. White escaped back to the locker room. They will face each later in Round 1.

SHO, Hirooki Goto, Tomohiro Ishii and Kazuchika Okada vs. BUSHI, Tetsuya Naito, SANADA and Shingo Takagi. Takagi pinned SHO with Last of the Dragon. Good preview of Takagi vs. Goto in Round 2. SANADA and Ishii also had a face-off, as they will meet later in Round 1

New Japan Cup 1st Round Match: Gabriel Kidd vs. Zack Sabre Jr.. ZSJ gets the submission win with a neck vice, which almost put Kidd to sleep. Great match! Both started mat wrestling and grappling. Kidd held his own against ZSJ. He may be still considered a “young lion”, but he was awesome in this match. He deserves a promotion.

New Japan Cup 1st Round Match: Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Will Ospreay. Master Wato comes to the ring with Tenzan. Ospreay pins Tenzan with Storm Breaker. Good match. Tenzan had a good hard fought match. Ospreay gave Tenzan praise for his performance tonight.

Zack Sabre Jr. will meet Will Ospreay in Round 2.
