INXS Day (45th Anniversary - 16th Aug, 2022
Today, the 16th August is a huge day in music history as it is the day of the death of The King Elvis Presley and Australian band INXS played their debut gig as 'The Farriss Brothers', at a house party in Whale Beach, Sydney in 1977 to celebrate INXS lead guitarist Tim Farriss birthday. Only 10 or so years later, INXS (new name in 1979) would be one of the top rock and roll bands in the world and would end up selling over 70 million albums world wide.
No recording can be found of the Whale Beach gig but here is a recording of The Farriss Brothers band at Alley Cat Wine Bar, North Sydney, NSW, Australia on June 10, 1979.
