WWE Fastlane Returning October 7th From Indianapolis, Indiana

WWE Fastlane is returning as a premium live event. The event was first launched in 2015 and ran for six consecutive years before going on hiatus last year.

On Tuesday, Paul Heyman appeared on the Pat McAfee show as a fill-in for Seth Rollins, who did not appear as advertised. The "Wise Man" said Rollins was unable to appear due to the beating he suffered at the hands of Finn Balor on the June 19 edition of WWE Raw.

As of this writing, Rollins is still scheduled to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Bron Breakker on tonight's NXT Gold Rush special.

WWE Fastlane will take place Saturday, October 7 from Indianapolis, Indiana at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse arena, home to the NBA's Indiana Pacers.

The "Wise Man" also gave an interesting perspective of why WWE decided to bring back Fastlane for Indianapolis, Indiana.

"...Mr. McAfee, do you think that the fact that Fastlane comes to Indianapolis based on the fact that Indianapolis is a host of the Indianapolis 500? That it's known for the fast lane," said Heyman.

For fans unfamiliar with the Indianapolis 500, it's an annual car race around Memorial Day weekend. Heyman's quote seemingly confirms WWE's intentions of why they decided to bring back Fastlane in Indianapolis, Indiana. It's unclear if this is a one-off or if the company will make Fastlane an annual premium live event again.

The company is slowly revealing the rest of its big premium live event for 2023, as they revealed that Payback would take place on Sep. 2. Fans can register for a pre-sell offer to buy tickets to Fastlane on Oct. 7 now on WWE's website, and tickets for Payback will go on sale on June 27.
