NJPW G1 Climax 33 results from Hamamatsu, Japan - Aug 9, 2023 (Block D winners determined)
1 - Yuto Nakashima and Eddie Kingston vs. SHO and EVIL
SHO pins Nakashima after a cross arm piledriver.
2 - Ryohei Oiwa and Kaito Kiyomiya vs. Kosei Fujita and Mikey Nicholls
Nicholls pins Oiwa after a sliding lariat.
3 - Master Wato, Hikuleo and Shota Umino vs. Gedo, Gabe Kidd and David Finlay
Wato forces Gedo to tap out to Vendeval.
After the match, Kidd and Finlay attacks everyone. Kidd attacks Hikuleo with a chair, grabs the mic and says if he cannot win the G1 then neither is he. Kidd smashes Hikuleo in the head with the chair.
4 - Tomoaki Honma and Tomohiro Ishii vs. HENARE and Great O-Khan
HENARE pins Honma with Streets of Rage.
5 - Ren Narita, El Desperado and Minoru Suzuki vs. BUSHI, Yota Tsuji, Shingo Takagi
Narita forces BUSHI to tap out to the Cobra Twist.
Eddie Kingston joins Kevin Kelly on English commentary.
D BLOCK Matches:
6 - Toru Yano vs. Alex Coughlin
Kidd comes out to help his partner. Coughlin pins Yano after a Jackhammer.
Yano and Coughlin are eliminated from the G1.
7 - Jeff Cobb vs. Shane Haste
Both men were battling outside the ring. The referee began the count. Cobb tried to get back in the ring, but Haste kept holding onto his leg to keep him on the floor.
Both men get counted out. Match is a Draw. Both men get 1 point each.
Haste laughs and says he won, which means he blocked Cobb from hitting the 10 points and entering the second or first place.
8 - Hirooki Goto vs. Zack Sabre Jr.
Good match. ZSJ tied Goto into a knot and got a submission win.
ZSJ wins and gets to the Quarter Finals.
9 - Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Tetsuya Naito
Another good match. Both men laid it in stiff. The end came when Tanahashi slapped Naito. Naito spit in Tanahashi's face. Naito ducked a punch and hit a vicious Tornado DDT. The sound of Tanahashi's head hitting the mat was sick. Naito immediately rolled Tanahashi into an inside cradle.
Naito pins Tanahashi.
Tetsuya Naito gets to 10 points and 1st Place in the D Block. Zack Sabre Jr. takes 2nd Place.
Tetsuya Naito wants to get back to Wrestle Kingdom and recite the Los Ingobernales de Japon Roll Call. He his one step closer to that goal.

Note: Eddie Kingston on commentary was awesome. He has so much respect and love for the Japanese wrestlers that he grew up watching. He stated how proud he was to call the Naito/Tanahashi match. You can hear how much he is enjoying this tour of Japan.
