Sheamus Among Top WWE Contracts Expiring in 2024

The contract status of one of WWE’s most prominent stars is in the spotlight. Sheamus, who is a former World Heavyweight Champion and a cornerstone of WWE for years, is reportedly nearing the end of his current contract.

The information comes from a report from Fightful Select. But Sheamus is not the only wrestler whose contract is ending in 2024. This includes other big names such as Becky Lynch and Drew McIntyre, whose contracts are also nearing their ends next year.

As for Sheamus, his deal with WWE is reported to expire in the first quarter of 2024, but even that is not confirmed.

These contracts ending in the same year is the result of WWE signing multiple wrestlers to new five-year deals in 2019. Wrestlers who negotiated with the company later also have their deals expiring in 2024.

For Sheamus, his wrestling journey has been predominantly intertwined with WWE. His contributions to the promotion have been instrumental in shaping its modern era. It remains to be seen if The Celtic Warrior will continue his career in the WWE, or if he would prefer to go the free agent route.

Meanwhile, McIntyre was facing difficulties in reaching new contract agreements with the company. LA Knight was also reported to be in the same boat, with the company and the wrestler not seeing eye to eye when it came to financial terms. However, Knight’s WWE contract isn’t set to expire until 2025.

This comes at a time when WWE is going through several significant transformations. The recent merger of WWE with UFC, marking the creation of the Endeavor-owned TKO Group Holdings, and the wave of layoffs which impacted over 100 employees, have been major changes for the company.
