WWE: 'Ricochet Will Be Out for "Undisclosed Amount of Time" After Raw Assault'

WWE Raw's Ricochet will be out of action for an "undisclosed amount of time" after a brutal and violent attack by Bron Breakker.

Ricochet was brutalized by the two-time former WWE NXT Champion during Raw following Breakker's match with Ilja Dragunov. After delivering multiple spears to Ricochet, Bron continued his assault backstage, dropping the inaugural WWE Speed Champion onto a car bonnet. The attack resulted in Ricochet being sent away in an ambulance with his fiance, Raw announcer Samantha Irvin, going with him.

On Twitter/X, WWE gave an update on the One and Only. They note that due to the "brutal attack" by Breakker, that it is unclear when Ricochet will be back.

"After suffering a brutal attack at the hands of @bronbreakkerwwe this past Monday on #WWERaw, @KingRicochet will be out of action for an undisclosed amount of time with upper body injuries."

Many suspect that Ricochet will never return from these upper body injuries given his WWE contract status. The high-flyer has reportedly informed WWE that he plans to leave when his contract expires this summer. If so, it'll mark the end of a six-year run with the company. In that time, Ricochet became the first WWE Speed Champion, and the only Superstar to win the United States, Intercontinental, and North American titles.

While Ricochet was seemingly 'written off' TV with this week's attack, fans may not have seen the last of him just yet. Though the title change has already happened, Ricochet's WWE Speed title match with Andrade is set to happen next week on Twitter/X.

There is a belief in WWE that Ricochet could make one more TV appearance before his contract expires, PW Insider reports. There has been a creative pitch for Ricochet to appear for one more appearance on TV to allow WWE to capitalize on the buzz around his expected exit. Ricochet’s WWE contract is believed to expire around July, leaving a window of opportunity for one more appearance.
